Senior Specialist, Engineering and Technology Services: Web and software development, information technology, and system requirements and analysis projects for Volpe Center within the US Department of Transportation.

Main Projects:
  • Participate in design and development of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Safety and Security website. Updated User Administration and Reports. Improved speed as well as ease of code maintenance by replacing complex dynamic queries with views and stored procedures. Improved user friendliness of the administration interface by adding search and browsing functionality. ASP, Oracle, ChartFX
  • Develop the FTA Drug and Alcohol Management Information System (DAMIS). DAMIS is an accurate, timely and comprehensive database containing the results of the drug and alcohol testing programs of FTA grantees and their contractors. Added functionality to download and sign the company data in PDF format. Developed report and data download functionality for the FTA administrators of the DAMIS web site.
  • Developed a traveler information trip planning website for visitors to Massachusetts. Designed and developed the actual web site as well as an administrative data entry online application. Wrote DTS packages to transform the data from the development environment to the client's server. ASP (administrative site), Cold Fusion, MS SQL 2000.
  • Built a standalone application, Statement of Work Generator (SOWG), to improve speed, quality, and consistency of constructing "Statement of Work" documents by the NPS staff. The application allows Create New/Update/Import/Export as well as side-by-side comparison of existing statements of work. In addition, the application allows management of contractor hours and rates for convenient cost estimation and analysis. Visual Basic 6.0, MS Access.
  • Wrote the backend code of the Planning Assistant tool for Transportation Decision Making site, a self-diagnostic tool to help the users form ideas, identify techniques, and organize notes for a given public involvement activity. ASP, Cold Fusion, MS Access, XML.

Software Engineer: Developed and maintained a web site that allows full control over mortgage loan processing; data manipulation, report generation, and user administration.
